Helping patients to embrace their health and wellness
Pelvic Rehab at Epperson Physical Therapy was born out of a desire to treat the whole patient. We prioritize spending one on one time with our patients and pride ourselves on achieving better and longer lasting results with a shorter frequency and duration of visits.
At Epperson PT, you will not feel like a number, we want to cultivate a compassionate environment where patients feel safe. Pelvic floor physical therapy is very intimate and we want to make sure our patients feel comfortable while we help them through this journey.

FAQs
-
Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy (PFPT) is a specialized section of PT. Pelvic floor PTs are trained in internal examination and treatment techniques in order to thoroughly assess the pelvic region. Though many orthopedic clinics advertise “PFPT”, they may not have providers who truly specialize in these treatments.
-
Each initial visit will begin with a discussion about your current symptoms and an in depth background of what lead to these concerns. We believe that this is an integral part of the visit to give us as many details as possible. If you are comfortable, the visit will then proceed with an orthopedic examination to check for any contributing factors outside of the pelvis. An internal pelvic exam can then be performed, if indicated; however, if you are uncomfortable with an internal exam you can always decline and re-visit this at a future visit with your provider should you feel comfortable.
-
No, Arizona is a direct access state for physical therapy; therefore, you can seek physical therapy without a referral from your physician.
-
There is a common misconception that PFPT is only for women. However, men have pelvic floors as well and can suffer from pelvic floor conditions as well. Please reach out if you have questions regarding men’s health for PFPT.
